De invloedrijke gamestudio BioWare moet zijn deuren sluiten. De Canadese studio maakte de afgelopen decennia naam met games als Mass Effect en Dragon Age . Moederbedrijf Electronic Arts (EA) heeft na tegenvallende resultaten besloten om BioWare op te doeken en 400 banen te schrappen. BioWare werd in 1995 opgericht en legde zich toe op de zogenoemde rpg's, rollenspellen, waarbij spelers zelf kunnen kiezen welke richting het verhaal opgaat. Het eerste succes boekte BioWare in 1998 met Baldur's Gate , een pc-game die gebaseerd was op het populaire rollenspel Dungeons and Dragons uit de jaren 70.
