Tornar a Israel s'ha convertit per a alguns ciutadans en una detenció. Quaranta-dos homes ultraortodoxos que van arribar dimarts de Nova York van ser arrestats per la policia militar a l'aeroport Ben Gurion de Tel-Aviv, acusats d’eludir el servei militar. Vint-i-set d'ells van acceptar incorporar-se a files i van quedar en llibertat, i tretze van passar per un procés judicial i després van ser empresonats, tot i que han acabat acceptant anar a l'exèrcit i han estat alliberats. Però dos més van anar directament de l’aeroport a presó per haver evitat el reclutament durant més de 540 dies.
