In de Verenigde Staten is er grote commotie over een campagnevideo van Vivek Ramaswamy, de Republikeinse kandidaat-gouverneur in de staat Ohio. Daarin laat hij de moeder van zijn Democratische uitdager Amy Acton aan het woord. Zij noemt haar dochter een leugenaar. Maar Acton werd in haar jeugd verwaarloosd en misbruikt en heeft al tientallen jaren geen contact meer met haar moeder. Ook veel Republikeinen zijn verontwaardigd.
