Hoewel Austen een 'weerbom' wordt genoemd, is dit stormweer compleet normaal voor de tijd van het jaar. Dat zeggen meteorologen David Dehenauw en Thomas Vanhamel van het KMI. "Zulke stormen komen geregeld voor in de herfst en winter."
