Het Brussels Gewest zal de aanpak van asbest herzien. Er volgt onder meer een platform met nieuwe inventarissen en geactualiseerde cijfers. De meest recente gegevens dateren immers van 2017. Toen werd geraamd dat 80 tot 90 procent van het Brusselse gebouwenbestand asbest bevat. Een eerste herwerkingsvoorstel wordt begin 2027 verwacht.
