Before classes commenced, a student decided to withdraw from the Indian Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts. His mother sought a refund of the admission fee, citing assurances received from the institute. Following an investigation, the commission ruled that IIHMCA engaged in unfair trade practices by denying the refund. Consequently, the institute must return Rs 39,500, covering both the fee and compensation within 45 days.
